Somewhere on the Connie Sue Highway- July 15- Day 9 on track.

STATS:
Distance travelled: 131.1kms

Had trouble finding a campsite last night, we had to clear a bit of a space. But it was a good one, and we saw some great shooting stars and something else flashing in the sky.
Along the track today we came across three people stranded, with the "big end" of the ute causing the problem. The bloke was a teacher from Warburton and was travelling with two women who had just finished contracts with Child protection running a preventative program in Warburton. They had called the mechanic to come and get them, but he evidently took a wrong turn. We tried to report this to police a couple of days later in Warburton, but couldn't raise anyone using the emergency call button. Ended up we met the principal of another school on her way back to start term and she went to tell the Warburton Principal. We wonder what eventuated.

Unusual pine trees, Christmas trees we called them. Most had two twin trunks.
These yellow bushes really stood out among the green and grey. I liked them.
Someone didn't make it. Col and Rod check it out.
a lovely fluffy plant growing beside the track.
This avenue of trees hugged the track. It only went for probably a couple of hundred metres and about two metres either side of track. Looked cool.
Lunchtime saw some more repairs with some wheel alignment/adjustment to the Disco. Rod and Stef hard at work.
Steve is checking the alignment of the wheels.
Others found time to enjoy a bit of Vortex throwing, go Col.
No need to fight over it girls - Meg and Sarah with the vortex.
Nice throw Meg, not sure you are going to catch that one Milani.
The Connie Sue was not without her fair share of corrugations. I kept trying to get a photo that showed how frustrating they were.
A pea of some sort.
This is Coopers Bore, there was a tap and pump powered by the Solar panel. Stef and Meg still had this good water all the way home.
Filling up the blader - bucket by bucket. Are they doing it right Milani?
Very cool ant holes.
as seen from above.
Arty farty shot of ant hole and trees against sky.
and again throught the grasses.
This grass with a curl fascinated me. Each stalk had a curly bit somewhere.
Ska at one of the bluffs we visited. Possibly Ryan's Bluff.
View back down to the vehicles from Ryan's Bluff.
a 'stitched' panoramic shot from the top of Ryan's Bluff
a daisy growing on the bluff
Figs growing in a gully at the bluff. It was so green, quite strange. it's roots were hanging onto the rock for dear life.

Even tiny ferns were surviving here.

View at Ryan's bluff, the colours were pretty amazing.
We camped not far from the bluff, in the background looking East, as the sunset to the front of Ska in the West.
Sunsetting over our campfire.
and again, the colours just changed continually. I have MANY more photos. (only a select few make it to the blog)
