Somewhere on the Anne Beadell - July 12 - Day 6 on track.

STATS:
Distance travelled: 112.4

Last night was a lovely night, I enjoyed a delicious roast with the Davey clan, it was a warmer night.  We were up and on the road by about 9.30. We made it to the border of WA today - this caused us some issues with time zones. We arrived at the border at 4.30 Victorian time, 4.00 South Aussie time and then it was suddenly 2.30 in WA.

A cicada shell on tree near our campsite.
and a more alive insectly companion, this spider had an amazing web spun between some trees.
Here is the reverse view - she had plenty of food trussed up behind her.
The spiders were well photographed, as were the photographers, here is Steve taking a photo of Meg taking a photo of the spider and me taking a photo of both of them.
We passed through a 50km no camping zone, which meant we had to get through prior to setting up camp. This section included numbered posts indicating different sorts of flora, including Black Oak Woodlands, Mallee-Cyprus Pine, Grass Leaved Hakea, Honeysuckle Spider Flower, Mulga Woodlands.
Desert Kurrajong, such soft looking foliage in such a harsh 'desert' environment. Very different to most of the trees around.
Just a view of the track and the landscape.
Here is one of the numbered posts - number 5 indicated Desert Heath Myrtle or Thryptomine which was in an earlier days photos.
Just prior to the border we passed Serpentine Lakes.
A view of the Serpentine Lakes.
Aha - the border and another of Len's plates.
Here we all are crossing into WA.
Entering Spinifex Country. The WA signposting was a tad more sophisticated and colourful than the SA ones.
Couldn't resist the signs.
especially this one, which indicated that it was only 163kms to fuel and a REAL shower.
another lovely gathering around the campfire, tea done, dished done, time to relax and enjoy the nightlife.
the boys plotting the course for the next few days... I think.
Meg and Milani curled up by the fire, we were all a bit whacked and struggled to stay up, given the two hour time change.  Sarah in diary mode...can tell by the knees and fingers.
