Somewhere on the Anne Beadell - July 10 - Day 4 on track.

STATS
Distance Travelled: 101.9

Lots to see on the track today. I will leave it to the photos and captions to tell the tale.

Here we all are "on the wallaby" ready for a great day 4.
Today we entered the Maralinga area. We had to apply for permits before leaving to travel through a number of the areas we travelled through.

We came across this Jayco Dove poptop, which had been ransacked. We reckon they broke and axle and towed it off behind sand dunes - there was some tape tied to a tree - with the intention of returning to repair it. Unfortunately it looks like several others got there first. Sadly, there was a twin pushed (which Stef is folding up on the right) so it was obviously a family who then must have bundled into a car to travel out. We folded the top down and secured it as best we could.

that was packed up as best we could...a very sad sight.
We made it to Anne's corner. Here is another of the Len Beadell replica plaques. We only have 400 MILES until we turn right onto the Connie Sue Highway.
We saw our first dingo today - we had seen tracks, and here was a real dingo...he is under the tree in the centre of the shot.
After following VERY fresh camel tracks for some way along the track, we came across the owner of the prints. He also was very certainly the owner of the track, he just plodded along in front of us for some time. We were very excited to see our first camel... the excitement didn't wear off.
Here are the camel paparazzi, stopping to get the best shot.
Entering the "unamed conservation park"
Set up for camp, and Milani and I are cooking tea for the Dundek/Walsh and Stuart clan. Here is the Masterchef Milani slaving over a hot gas stove.
No staff out here, chef has to do the table work as well...go for it Milani!
Other folks were cooking up a storm too. Looks like steak for the Daveys, Steak and Spuds and Onions for the boys.
There is a better view of the boys meal. It never ceased to amaze us the number of gadgets and useful tools that magically appeared from the back of Rod's Ute - which became known at the "Magic Pudding" ute, it just kept on providing.
...and a nice wine (in a bottle no less) to accompany the Masterchef's curried chicken.
It was shower night again and a fair bit of washing was hung out to dry beside the fire. Unfortunately, the "witchee poo" striped thermal pants got a touch warm and developed a hard melted patch.
