Somewhere on the Anne Beadell - July 13 - Day 7 on track.

STATS:
Distance Travelled: 209.6km
Fuel at Ilkurkla Roadhouse $2.45 a litre - one tank and two jerries = $192.40
Shower: Brilliant.
Coober Pedy to Ilkurkla: 781.6kms.

We hit some wet tracks today - here is Stef and Co splashing through.

Here is PIB getting very excited by the ONE km to Ilkurkla signpost.
The Ilkurkla roadhouse.
The roadhouse had a satellite public phone, this provided an opportunity to ring Tim at Outdoor Auto to arrange for new rear shocks to be sent to Yulara, hopeful that they would arrive before we did. I also gave Dad a quick ring to confirm the arrangements to meet him at Yulara, where he would join us for the crossing of the Simpson Desert.
The structure on the left is the phone box.
The fuel pump.
The people who were running the Roadhouse, were two older couples, who were doing it for five weeks, they were all lovely people. We arrived and fuelled up before the rush, later when I went back after shower there were cars lined up waiting. Funnily enough they had seen NO ONE the previous day.

the shower. the buliding on the right is the shower, we had to light the burner, but it was a brilliant shower.

Here we all are in clean clothes, having fuelled, showered etc at Ilkurkla, Paparazzi capturing a large group of camels.
Here is my shot of the mob...we didn't actually know what a group of camels is called, do you?
Not sure what the plant was, but the bush part if very thorny/prickly, but hidden underneath are these amazing red flowers.
The flowers up close.
And from a distance. Maybe some sort of spinifex, but not sure.
Our campsite for the night was at the site of the Plane Wreck. Here it is as the sunsets.
Here is Sk in the typical WA sunset, with the Moon above. Ready for a very chilly night
