Somewhere between Warburton/Warakurna and Surveyor Generals Corner- July 18- Day 12 on track.

STATS:
Distance Travelled: 170.6
Warakurna Roadhouse: $2.00 per litre

Due to longer time taken on Anne Beadell and Connie Sue, we decided to skip the Abandoned section of the Gunbarrel Highway and move on to the Surveyor General's Corner. The trip has been dubbed the "MOTS" since our first meeting, meaning Meeting Of The States - at the Surveyor General's Corner (SGC)

Today we fuelled at Warakurna Roadhouse and went to look around the Giles Meteorological Weather Station, before heading out to Wingenina where we needed to get permits and a guide to take us to the SGC.

There was lots to see and do today, and we camped early which enabled plenty of shots to be taken. So today I will pretty much let the pictures tell the story...except where I can't resist narrating.

As I mentioned yesterday, the camera stuffed up last night, and no luck getting it going this morning. At Warakurna I phoned Dad to let him know where we were and to ask him to buy a camera at Port Augusta, whilst on the phone, Stef fiddled with the camera and fixed it...then proceeded to shoot off 40 shots in quick succession...here is a sample.

Meg and Milani - Gotcha!
Now what's the song and dance about?
Meg hasn't had a "real" coffee for days and days - she bought this Cafe Latte  Hot can and is about to crack it.
Here is a regular lunch stop and my lunch. Looks like tuna with salad - asparagus, beetroot, lettuce, capsicum, cheese etc.
Lunch is time to send a spot, here is the Spot Messenger device, sending the info via satellite.
